Designer & First Employee of MasterClass
starting October 2013
I work closely with the cofounders on UX design, brand strategy, production, and recruiting. I'm thrilled to be the first employee of a company making an inspirational difference in the world!

Visual Designer & Product Manager at Snapguide February to September 2013
Snapguide started as a iPhone app for creating how-to guide on any subject. Now their platforms include iPhone, iPad, desktop & mobile web. My role was a hybrid position of both product manager and designer. I worked closely with Snapguide's CEO to structure quarterly roadmaps, project schedules, and design reviews including the launch of their new iOS7 iPhone app, which was featured in the App Store during iOS7's launch. I also designed improvements for the product's mobile web, desktop web and iPhone app.

Visual Designer at YouTube May 2010 to January 2013
I led design on YouTube’s first visual language redesign. I started as the sole designer on the project—conducting brand research, visual explorations, and establishing the building blocks for the visual system. As the team grew, I also took on project-management tasks, created an implementation plan, and composed the company-wide style guide. After completing the redesign, I focused on the holistic user experience of signing-in and on-boarding.

Art Director for Disposable Film Festival 2007-2013
I design and maintain the festival’s visuals—including print, online, motion graphics and merchandise. I oversee other designers and advise the directors on creative matters and content selection.

Senior Visual Designer at Mule Design 2008 to 2010
I led projects and worked directly with clients on a variety of websites. Clients included Six Apart, Mint, The Financial Times, and The Applied Research Center.

Visual Interface Designer at Cooper 2006 to 2008
I designed visual interfaces from concept to pixel-completion for clients, including Motorola, Dolby, Dymo, and Cigna, using the goal-directed design methods. I also designed infographics and layout for the book, About Face 3.

Carnegie Mellon University

I earned a BFA in communication design, a minor in creative writing, and graduated with university & college honors. I was on the Dean’s List for all semesters, received the School of Design Merit Award and Landesberg Prize in Graphic Design.

Glasgow School of Art
I studied abroad in Scotland in the advanced graphics program, focusing on motion graphics and textiles.

Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts
I was accepted into this select state program as a junior in high school and studied graphic design and drama.
